The Konstantinos, Yorgos, and Thanos were in Strasbourg invited by the European Parliament. Together with other content creators from across the EU, Glossonauts exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and most importantly, visions for a better future.

Did you know there are over 200 languages spoken in Europe today? If you compare this with the 6.000 languages that are spoken in the whole world it might seem a small number, but it isn’t!

Check out the video we made for this special day here! Within those 200 languages, some are closer to each other (like Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese) and others are not. That’s why linguists like to depict those relations in a tree:

Sharing common vocabulary is quite useful when you’re trying to learn this language right? But what happens when this is not the case? For example, Greek has its own branch, away from the others.

In other words: which is the most difficult language? I

Greek, one of the most ancient, might seem tough, but the truth is that there are no difficult languages, just unfamiliar ones!

The more time you spend to really understand a language the more confident you will be. And this is a skill that takes time.
